Red Carpet Review: Golden Globes 2013.

It's awards season, so we all know what that means: every blog out there will be posting the "top five" picks from every red carpet.  I'm no exception, so here are my five favourite looks from this year's Golden Globes (all images via The Cut).  Did you watch this year's show?  Which dresses were your favourites?

Anne Hathaway in Chanel
This was, by far, my absolute favourite dress of the night.  It was the first dress I saw when I turned on the show (better late than never, right?) & found myself comparing every other gown to this one.  It was basically "Say Yes to the Dress: Golden Globes".  Anne won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Mis & I think that's because Chanel wins every time.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
Admittedly, I wasn't too excited about this dress when I saw it in photos.  Seeing it on Lawrence on television, however, made me completely change my mind.  She looked gorgeous!  The dress didn't look nearly as stiff & shiny as it does in the picture above.  I really like the simplicity of this dress & think the slim belt is a perfect accent.

Isla Fisher in Reem Acra
Scary, too-dark-for-a-redhead tan aside, I really (& surprisingly) liked this dress.  I'm going to assume it's because it's so sparkly.  Who doesn't love a good sparkly dress during awards season?  I really think the glitter helped Isla Fisher to stand out amongst the other stars who also chose nude-coloured gowns (Amy Adams, anyone?).  By the way, the flesh-toned dress trend needs to go away.  It's just not a good look.

Naomi Watts in Zac Posen
I wasn't crazy about the cut of this dress, but think the deep burgundy colour is absolutely stunning.  It looks so perfect with Naomi's pale skin & blond hair.  I'm also loving that, in a sea of strapless & slits up to there, Naomi Watts is all covered up...from the front at least.

Claire Danes in Atelier Versace
I don't know why, but I was loving the red last night.  Claire Danes looked amazing for someone who just had a baby.  I love how effortless & comfortable her dress looks.

  1. Great picks! I hate to admit it, but I wan't crazy about Anne Hathaway's dress... Even though she clearly knows how to pose for the camera, during her interview I thought the top part did nothing for her figure. I can't wait for the Oscars and Golden Globes!!!
